This week IBP were invited to assist with a careers week at Corsham School, given IBP’s commitment to being Inspired By People, they were only too happy to assist. The week started with IBP’s Head of Recruitment, Tania Whitmarsh, giving a talk on Monday to a tutor group of year 11’s.Tania’s talk was a six-stage presentation on how to prepare for an interview, focussing on all aspects of preparation from knowledge of the company to how a candidate should present themselves on the day.
As an agency dealing with candidates from all sectors, and ranging in all abilities IBP has a fantastic insight into what works well, having both the experience and the knowledge from their work in the industry.
The children were engaging, and both they and the form tutor were really interested in the information provided. IBP are pleased to say that they have been invited back next year.
This morning IBP then returned with both Tania, and Managing Director, Craig Roberts, to take part in the careers fayre, put on at the school, which featured businesses both local and national who were there to give children an insight into the world of work. IBP featured amongst such titans of industry as Network rail, M.J Church, Siemens, Coventry Building Society and Several Colleges including Bath and Wiltshire Colleges, together with some local IT Companies.
MD Craig Roberts commented, “At IBP we truly are passionate about people, it’s why we chose the name Inspired by People, and we were thrilled to be invited to attend this event at Corsham School. It was brilliant to see so many businesses taking part, and to see so many young people interested in work. We look forward to returning to the school again soon.”
The careers week was an excellent chance for IBP to share their passion with the workforce of tomorrow, as in an ever-changing working world, where younger generations are growing up with very different priorities and goals to their parents and grandparents, it’s fantastic to engage with them and offer professional advice at this early stage. With IBP taking part in more community events such as this, they look forward to, as ever being continually Inspired by People.
